The Museum is a volunteer-led organization. Our many dedicated volunteers come from diverse backgrounds but share one common goal: the preservation of our local railroad history. Volunteers are the backbone of our organization, and we’re proud to say our numbers are growing. We welcome volunteers of all ages, interests, and time commitments, even if you only have a few hours a month to spare. Volunteers assist at the station building, help with restoration work on rail equipment, work on fundraising events, and handle administrative work to help raise public awareness of the Museum.

For younger train enthusiasts, the Museum has a growing Junior Volunteer program. Intended for kids between the ages of 10 and 15, the program meets monthly and allows volunteers to learn and perform age-appropriate restoration tasks alongside their adult counterparts. The program began in 2023 and has been well-received by kids, parents, and museum members alike.  It’s a great way to get involved in rail preservation and make friends who have similar interests.
